So I am still happy with one of my smallest drilled pieces. I just ordered a 3 by 3 inch 30 gauge 18k gold sheet to make another smaller drilled piece. I also ordered some ostrich eggs, which should arrive sometime late next week that I will be drilling, and creating jewelry objects from.
This Friday is open studios I will do another performance piece, wearing my object around and see what reactions I get as well as how the objects transform. Once the objects have transformed I want to sew it back together with gold thread.
This week I am trying to categorize my work. I feel there are some objects which are performance based... made large and they should be played out over the next month.
Then there are smaller objects made from metal and other materials. These objects are precious, people want to preserve them however due to the material they will eventually transform.
I am still interested in finding another process that can be used to destroy/transform the objects.

Hi Lauren, Did you end up doing a NYC performance or something similar? I am curious about the eggshell pieces what effect their materiality had. I am always intrigued by your intense work on the making, the desire for the performance/human interaction where loss will occur, but then a need to salvage the pieces
